Senior Software Engineer

Overview:

The software engineer develops robust software to allow an operator to control our radars and visualize their results.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and write high-quality software
  • Participate in peer reviews of team members’ contributions
  • Derive system requirements and specifications
  • Document and compile results
  • Help design and conduct flight tests

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in C and/or C++
  • 2+ years Node.js
  • 2+ years of web front end experience including CSS, HTML, javascript
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • Experience with Web Video Encoding/Streaming
  • Experience using Matlab
  • Understanding of radar systems, especially SAR or MTI
  • Understanding of GPS systems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

To conform to U.S. Government radar technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.


Radar Systems Engineer

Overview:

The radar systems engineer will work with a diverse group of software, embedded, signal processing and RF engineers and be comfortable working independently or as part of an integrated development team.

Responsibilities:

Support radar system design, waveform definition, digital signal processing definition and specification of radar subsystem requirements

  • Work with multi-disciplinary product development team in support of design, integration and test of automotive radar systems
  • Support definition of radar system and technology development strategies
  • Support on platform radar integration
  • Support data measurement collection events
  • Write test plans as well as test reports for radar measurement activities
  • Support the design of new radar system concepts and signal processing algorithms for aeronautical radar systems
  • Prepare accurate and timely proposals as part of our business development activities

Basic Qualifications:

MSEE or equivalent technical degree

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in radar systems design, integration and test
  • Experience in waveform definition, detection and estimation techniques, digital signal processing and specification of subsystem requirements
  • Experience in radar signal processing and a competent understanding of radar technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Team player. Highly motivated, flexible, and well organized

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Doctorate degree

  • Experience in FMCW radar, phase modulation waveform techniques
  • Experience in SAR and MTI radars
  • Experience in development of airborne radar
  • Experience in antenna architectures and waveforms

Embedded Software Engineer

Overview:

The embedded software engineer will develop robust software and firmware to bridge the gap between physical phenomenon and digital control systems.   You will work on code that runs closer to our hardware than anyone else.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and write high-quality C and C++ code targeted for embedded systems
  • Write VHDL glue code to connect DSP systems to various interfaces
  • Participate in peer reviews of team members’ contributions
  • Design and execute initial testing of the team’s embedded code
  • Help design and conduct flight tests

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in C and/or C++, targeted towards embedded devices
  • 2+ years VHDL
  • 1+ years of experience using Matlab

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Proficiency reading schematics and datasheets, as well as use of electronic lab equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering irons, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with microprocessors at the “bare metal” level, including bring-up, performance analysis and debugging
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing for at least one popular microprocessor family (ARM/TI)
  • Understanding of radar systems, especially SAR or MTI
  • Understanding of GPS systems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
